Avro Vulcan B2 XM655 of the Waddington Wing at Goose Bay in August 1968. By this time, the Waddington Wing had fully re-equipped with B2s (from B1As) and had already exchanged its original 200-series Olympus-engined B2 aircraft with most of the 301-engined free-fall aircraft that had originally been delivered to the Coningsby/Cottesmore Wing. Consequently, the Waddington Wing had rapidly transformed from using the somewhat limited B1As to using the newest and most powerful B2s in the fleet.
