Correspondent Kevin Hedspeth writes:

"I was going through my photo collection recently and came across a photo of XL388 when it was in the USA at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona during their Airshow for 1968. I would gladly contribute it to you if you would like to have it. I am glad that at least part of the aircraft still survives. I will never forget when I saw the Vulcan fly back in 1968. Even though I was only five years old at the time, it made a lasting impression on me."

If Kevin was only five, then we can willingly forgive the soft image. But what is fascinating is that although Vulcan B2 XL388 Blue Steel of the Scampton Wing might be used to a little wet weather, then D-M AFB, aka 'the Boneyard', certainly is not.
