Now you know why the Vulcan is the shape it is — limited by the dimensions of Hazel Grove's railway bridges. Sections were built at the A V Roe factory at Chadderton and final assembly was at Woodford airfield. The large sections were moved on Sundays to keep disruption to a minimum. Considering the convoy has been held up by an unexpected lamp post, this could be the Avro 698 prototype VX770 that flew in 1952.
