A Lancaster overflys the ORP at RAF Waddington in March 1968. The Vulcan B2s are (front to rear) XH561, XJ782, XM656 and XJ824. Only XH561 is fitted with terrain-following radar. Having served on 230 OCU since its delivery in December 1960, 561 was returned to the manufacturers in March 1966 and was reissued to the Waddington Wing in August 1967. No doubt the TFR was fitted in that period. When this photograph was taken, the Waddington Wing was exchanging its earlier aircraft with the late-production aircraft of the Cottesmore Wing. Hence the presence of 656 in the photograph.
